Angkor Trekking & Camping Adventure Tour, Cambodia ToursDay 1: Siem Reap - Arrival: *L/D: Day 2: Siem Reap - Kbal Spean - Phnom Kulen Camp: B/L/D:
Morning: After breakfast, we drive to Kbal Spean, commonly known as the valley of a 1000 Lingas. It consists of a series of stone carvings in and around the Kbal Spean River. The motifs of stone carvings are roughly three: myriads of lingam, lingam-yoni designs and various Hindu mythological motifs, Chub Preah is the plain spot where having cool water flows and is located at the mountain’s valley. At Chup Preah, there is a big Buddhist statue and many other small statues made during 16th century. Light trek to this sacred mountain by visiting Linga 1,000 is located on the mountain, along the Siem Reap River and has a lot of figures of Yoni and Linga spreading out on the riverbeds, Preah Ang Thom is an 8 meter tall statue of the reclining Buddha reaching nirvana. Preah Ang Thom is the sacred and worshipping god for Phnom Kulen. Besides Preah Ang Thom, there are Chhok Ruot, footprint of Preah Bat Choan Tuk, Peung Chhok, Peung Ey So and Peung Ey Sey. After that go swimming in the waterfall. Spend overnight near waterfall.
Day 3: Phnom Kule whole day: B/L/D:
Morning: After breakfast begin hiking and trekking in the deep jungle to discover the lost site of Srah Damrey, an immense monolith sandstone of the 10th century representing elephant and lions, hidden in the deep jungle. Then continue on to visit Prasat Aram Rongchen. Spend overnight at Preah Kral pagoda.
Day 4: Phnom Kulen - Beng Mealea Camp: B/L/D:
Morning: After breakfast, we continue trekking journey to explore the village of Anglong Thom; then drive to Beng Melea temple, passing through the Cambodian countryside (63km from town). Visit the long abandoned temple of Beng Melea built in 11th century which is strangled in jungle and visit Othmar Dap from where the ancient Khmer took sandstones (the main quarry sandstone) to build Angkor complex. Spend overnight at home stays/ in camping.
Day 5: Beng Mealea – Peung Kumnou - Koh Ker – Siem Reap: B/L/D:
Morning: Aftrt breakfast, drive to the remote 10th century ruins of Koh Ker. Over 100 temples are rumored to exist in the area, many now lost in the jungle due to the capital which was abandoned in the remote north of Angkor for more than a thousand years. Next explore some of the main sites such as the temple of 5 towers and the spectacular Pyramid of Prasat Thom & Prasat Kra Horm. After that continue by scenic road, stopping to visit Peung Kumnou cave with a beautiful bas-relief. Finally drive back to Siem Reap. Spend overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Siem Reap - Departure: B/L:
Morning: After breakfast, drive to the Kampong Phluk village and take a boat ride. You will not want to miss a visit to Kampong phluk the next time you visit Angkor Wat because this river village is like nothing you have ever seen. As the first house come into view, you cannot help but be awestruck by the sight of houses supported by bamboo stills, sitting 10 meters above the water. Continue tour to visit Rolous group pre-Angkorian which it is a second capital after Phnom Kulen, consisting of Lolei, Preah Ko & Ba Khong. Lunch and transfer to the airport for departure.
