Terrace of the Elephants


Constructed late 12th century by king Jayavarman VII (1181-1220).
Religion: Buddhist. Art style: Bayon.

Terrace of the Elephants is an impressive, two and a half-meter tall, 300m in length. It has three main platforms and two subsidiary ones. The northern section of the wall displays some particularly fine sculpture including the five headed horse and scenes of warriors and dancers.
