Siem Reap – Home to Angkor Wat (314 km from Phnom Penh) Siem Reap is the ancient historical city of the Khmer Empire of the 9th Century. Siem Reap is a small charming city with a river flowing through the center of town. While most tourists spend their time exploring the ancient temple ruins, there are plenty of other diversions in the city. The Tonlè Sap Lake is located here and boat tours offer visitors a glimpse into the traditional Khmer way of life. Floating Villages, sunset cruises and tour of the bird sanctuary reserve of Prek Tuol. Visiting the local stone and wood-carving school or the nearby Silk Farm are also interested options.
